Always Different. Never Ordinary.

I moved from Iowa to the Northwest in the early 80’s. My intentions were to start a Master’s program, but instead I found myself working restaurant jobs, volunteering for various political causes, and taking an occasional art class.  I was always looking for something I could call a career.  In 1990, I took an evening upholstery class and knew that I had found my calling.  My first chairs were a combination of several fabrics, very colorful and arty.  I sold them to boutique stores and galleries around the Seattle area.  As my business grew I was able to hire professional upholsterers and soon after we moved to our present location in West Seattle. 

There have been many changes over the last 10 years and hopefully more to come.  I still love the process of taking something dated or unusable and giving it new life. I feel lucky to be doing what I am doing and to live in a great community.

Shopping for the home should be a fun experience and I feel we have created a happy hunting ground for furniture and home accessories.  The storefront is ever-changing, with one-of-a-kind upholstered pieces and a great mix of new and vintage accents. We’re also proud to show work from several local artists. We hope that you will visit our store and be sure to sign up on our mailing list for upcoming events and sales.
